MID SUMMER THRILL SHOW SET TO ROCK SEEKONK SPEEDWAY THIS SATURDAY

SEEKONK, Mass. — Seekonk Speedway will kick-off the month of August in a big way this Saturday night, August 2, with the running of the Mid Summer Thrill Show. The popular event will bring thousands of fans to the Action Track of the East to watch the historic Great American Trailer Race, along with more than four other divisions of excitement around the third-mile.
The first green flag for the Mid Summer Thrill Show will drop at 5PM.
Tickets are available in advance online at SeekonkSpeedway.com, where fans can save money and skip the lines on race day by purchasing ahead.
Have you ever witnessed the Great American Trailer Race? If not, this Saturday is the time to do it! It sounds exactly like it is - hook up a truck to a trailer and race them around the track! When you talk about thrills and spills, this is the ultimate race of speed, thrill and excitement all in one. The smashing of Thrill Show competition hits trailers this time around, and it’s a race you surely don’t want to miss.
On the card on top of the Great American Trailer Race are the East Coast Towing & Recovery Spectator Drags, the return of the Crown Vic Cruisers, the Crazy Figure 8 Races, Car & Truck Enduro Races & Car & Truck Enduro Drags.
The Spectator Drags enter the event with Jarred Smith leading defending champion Carlito Mello by 8 points, with Nathan Williams in third, 9 points back from the lead in their championship standings, heading for the stretch run of the season. The side-by-side racing that keeps fans on the edge of their seats returns this Saturday.
The Crown Vic Cruisers make their third appearance of the season, as their growing division looks to have a third different winner in three races. Mike Cavallaro, a NASCAR Saturday champion, won the most recent event. In the debut race, Crystal Serydynski was on top.
The excitement of the Crazy Figure 8 races, Car & Truck Enduro and the Car & Truck Drag races also will entertain thousands on Saturday.
Tickets are $25 for adults in advance, $12 for youth 6-12 and kids five and under free. For those who purchase at the track, tickets are $28 for adults, $15 for youth 6-12 and kids five and under remain free. As always, parking is free at Seekonk Speedway.
