David Darling won his ninth Pro Stock title to finish out 2025, and came out swinging to open the new year, looking to capture an elusive 10th driving title this season. Darling won the opener of the NASCAR Local Racing Series Pro Stock season, taking the top spot from Mike Brightman and sailing away to victory lane.
The Move of the Race: Former Pro Stock champion Kenny Spencer had to go to the rear early, but charged through the pack and finished in third, on the podium. It was a very impressive opening day for Spencer, after a few years filled with tough luck.
The Story: Brightman started from the pole and looked to have the car to beat while he was out front. A mechanical problem forced him to slow while racing up front, and Brightman didn’t finish. Look out for him to be back swinging next week.

The Top Contenders: Nick Lascuola chased Darling across the line in second. There were times towards the end he appeared to be closing in on the race for the lead, but settled for a strong second-place to open the season.
The Top-10: David Darling, Nick Lascuola, Kenny Spencer, Mark Benson, Vinnie Arrenegado, Colbey Fournier, Jeramy Lille, Billy Brady, Dick Benoit, James Logan
Look Out For Next Week: The Pro Stocks will be back on track for 40 laps on May 9.
