Championship Night at Seekonk Speedway: Four Divisions, Four Finales, One Unforgettable Saturday

The 2026 season at the Action Track of the East ended Saturday night with the Sunoco Drive For The Cup championship finales. Titles were decided, a milestone was reached, and a first-time winner took his place in Victory Lane. Here's how it all played out.

Pro Stock: Arrenegado Wins the Finale, Lascuola Wins the Title

Vinnie Arrenegado took the 50-lap Pro Stock finale, beating a field full of former champions. He started sixth and worked his way up to the battle for the lead between Kenny Spencer and Dylan Estrella. When lapped traffic slowed the leaders, Arrenegado took advantage and never looked back.

The championship went to Nick Lascuola, who edged David Darling by a single playoff point. Darling needed the win to take the title and charged through the field, but came up just short. Estrella finished third, ahead of Spencer and Lascuola.

The title was Lascuola's fourth at Seekonk. After Legends Cars championships on Fast Friday in 2013 and 2014, and a Seekonk Youth Racing Association title in 2010, he joins an elite group of six drivers with exactly four Seekonk Speedway championships. The other five are Leo Cleary, Norm Holden, Bugsy Stevens, Dylan Estrella and Joe Rosenfield.

Sport Truck: Helger Wins It All in His Rookie Season

Three drivers entered the 35-lap Sport Truck finale in a tight fight for the title. Richie Helger Jr. started seventh, worked through traffic, and pulled away to win both the race and the championship, all in his rookie season in the division.

Helger was already a champion in the Bandolero and Legends Cars ranks on Fast Friday. This title makes him a NASCAR Saturday champion and gives him three Seekonk championships, putting him alongside Dick Houlihan, Sparky Arsenault, Wayne Dion and George Murray.

Dick Benoit finished second in the No. 45 Truck while also racing the Pro Stock. Last week's winner, Tim Bolger Jr., was third, followed by Ethan Heilborn and Jordan Duquette. Mike Cavallaro, Scott Cestodio, DJ Thibeault, Jake Vanada and Colton Teague rounded out the top ten.

Sportsman: A First Win for Aspden, a Crown for Moretti

Two drivers had reason to celebrate in the Sportsman finale. Kent Aspden III, one race after wrecking and then rebuilding his car, won for the first time in his career. He started on the pole and dominated the 35-lap finale.

Randy Moretti had already clinched the title going in and was officially crowned the 2026 Sportsman champion. Adam Pettey, the champion for two straight years before Moretti, charged through the pack for second. Nathan Rioux started last in the 23-car field and finished third, with Doug Benoit fourth and Daniel Leach fifth.

Late Model: Belcher Adds a Win to His Championship

Chase Belcher closed out the season with another win in the 40-lap Late Model finale, adding it to his Late Model championship. For much of the race, Belcher, Ryan Vanasse Jr. and Richie Murray fought for the top spot. Belcher got the lead away, then held off Vanasse on the final restart in a green-white-checkered finish.

Murray finished second, ahead of Charlie Rose, who nipped Vanasse at the line. Mark Jenison was fifth.

Thank You, and See You in 2027

Congratulations to all of our 2026 champions, and thank you to the drivers, crews, sponsors and fans who made this season special. Stay tuned for 2027 season updates.
