SEEKONK, Mass. — Nick Lascuola came out on top for the first time in his career in the Pro Stock division on Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway. In the Seekonk 80th season Anniversary Series special, Lascuola held off the charges of eight-time champion David Darling and Bobby Pelland III in the second half of the race to take the feature win.
Lascuola jumped out front early and had Darling closing in over the second half of the race. The two raced for the lead before a caution, then got together on the ensuing restart. Pelland took the lead for a second, but then both Darling and Lascuola slid back by.
Lascuola crossed the line first with Darling second and Burns third. Darling was penalized two positions for post-race contact, making the results official as follows: Lascuola, Burns, Pelland, Darling and Colbey Fournier.
Vinnie Arrenegado finished sixth, followed by Daryl Stampfl, Mike Brightman, Dylan Estrella and Mark Jenison.
The Pro Stocks will return to the track on Saturday, July 26 for another 30-lap main event as part of Boston Louie Seymour night at the races. For more information on Seekonk Speedway and tickets to upcoming events, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com.
