HENRIQUES OPENS THE SEASON IN VICTORY LANE IN THE PURE STOCKS

SEEKONK, Mass. — Mike Henriques was long known for having strong runs in the Helger’s Pure Stock division at the end of the season. But, the last two years, it seems like the start of the year is working well for him. 

Henriques captured the victory in the first 25-lap event of the season on Friday night, starting from the outside pole, immediately jumping out front and never looking back in a race that went without a caution flag. 

Ethan Souza charged through the field to finish second behind him, with Jared Cordeira in third. Souza and Cordeira battled hard for the second spot in the final laps. 

They were followed by Peter Bleau and Matthew Talbot in fourth and fifth after 25 laps. 

Brent Robidoux, Danny Massa, Steve Aubin, Crystal Murray and Zachary Keith finished the top-10.

The Helger’s Pure Stocks will be back on the track on Friday, June 6, for another main event. Their second race of the season is set for 25 laps. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.
