Fast Friday Recap: Championships Clinched and Comebacks Celebrated at Seekonk Speedway
Championship celebrations, a remarkable comeback and a first-time season winner highlighted the penultimate Fast Friday of the season at Seekonk Speedway. Mike Cavallaro and Landon Solomito secured their division titles a week early, while other Sunoco Drive For The Cup contenders set the stage for a showdown in the season finale.
Burns Scores Seventh Legends Cars Victory
Jacob “Rowdy” Burns bounced back from a difficult start to the Sunoco Drive For The Cup with his seventh Legends Cars victory of the season, extending his championship lead with one race remaining.
Starting fifth, Burns wasted little time moving to the front. Mason Tessier, winner of the first two playoff events, advanced from seventh to second, but couldn’t match Burns’ pace once the leader found clean track.
While Burns pulled away, Tessier held off late challenges from Brian Wilkinson Jr. and Brody Wakefield to secure second. Burns heads into the finale with the championship advantage, but Tessier remains in contention.
Keith Returns to Pure Stock Victory Lane
Zachary Keith earned his second Santos Recycling Pure Stock win of the season with a strong performance in the 25-lap feature.
The former Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero competitor started on the outside pole and took command early. After moving to the bottom groove, Keith built a gap as the field battled behind him. Crystal Murray closed in and searched for a way past, but Keith held on for the victory.
Murray finished second, followed by Brent Robidoux in third. Championship contenders Richie Johnson and Bryson Robidoux completed the top five. Ethan Souza finished seventh and retains the points lead over Johnson heading into the finale.
Dulac Wins as Cavallaro Clinches Crown Vic Championship
John Dulac powered to his third One Way Recycling Crown Vic Cruisers victory of the season, while Mike Cavallaro’s fourth-place finish delivered a championship celebration.
Dulac started third and took the lead from John Lallier. When Lallier and another car tangled, the field slowed to avoid the incident, allowing Dulac to stretch his advantage. He controlled the remainder of the 20-lap feature, continuing an impressive season despite running a partial schedule.
Chris Curtis finished second and Chase Curtis took third. Behind them, Cavallaro secured his seventh career Seekonk Speedway championship—and his first on Fast Friday—with one race to spare.
Zimmerman Breaks Through in Bandolero Outlaws
After showing speed throughout the season in the No. 79, Nathan Zimmerman put it all together to capture his first Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw victory of the year.
Zimmerman took the lead early in the 15-lap feature and stayed out front through an eventful race. Midway through, contact involving Luka Dib and Allyha DeSomma sent Landon Heim spinning and ended Heim’s night.
Dib restarted at the rear and charged back to second, closing on Zimmerman in the final laps but falling short. Aguiar finished third, with Zac Kelley and DeSomma rounding out the top five.
Meack Turns a Frightening Setback Into Victory
One week after a fuel-line incident engulfed his car in flames, Arthur Meack returned to Seekonk Speedway and drove straight to Sport 4 Victory Lane.
Meack and his team spent the week repairing the car, and their effort paid off in the 20-lap feature. He pulled away from the field to dominate the third round of the Sunoco Drive For The Cup, earning his fifth victory of the season.
Daniel Hayes finished second, ahead of former champion Dave Westgate. The victory puts Meack in a strong position to secure the championship in the season finale.
Solomito Seals Back-to-Back Bandolero Bandit Titles
Landon Solomito capped another dominant performance with his ninth win of the season, clinching back-to-back Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit championships a week early.
Solomito grabbed the lead early in the 15-lap feature and never looked back. His latest victory brought his season win rate to 75 percent and put the championship mathematically out of reach for his challengers.
Jace Chaber finished second, with Tobey Lecuyer completing the podium.
With two titles secured and more championship battles still to be decided, Fast Friday now heads into its season finale with plenty on the line.
