Celebrating A True Icon: Thank You, Ben Dodge

A huge thank you goes out to one of the greatest voices and ambassadors our sport has ever known.
For more than forty years, Ben Dodge has dedicated his life to short-track racing. Fans across the East Coast know that unmistakable voice. From Connecticut, to Florida, and everywhere in between, Ben has been the voice behind countless unforgettable race days. His presence has energized crowds, brought stories to life, and created lifelong memories for racers and race fans alike.
Ben’s passion for motorsports has always reached far beyond the microphone. He found success as a driver, car owner, track promoter, and a true advocate for grassroots racing. His leadership helped drive major growth at historic venues including Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park and Riverside Park Speedway.
He was also a pioneer in bringing local racing into homes across the region. TV programs like “Raceweek” and “NASCAR New England” helped elevate the sport and those who compete in it, showcasing the heart and excitement of short-track racing to new audiences. In 2017, Ben earned his rightful place in the New England Auto Racers Hall of Fame. The honor reflects the impact he has had on generations of racers, fans, and fellow announcers.
The Venditti family was honored to recognize Ben yesterday for everything he has done throughout his remarkable career. His dedication has shaped the sport we love, and we are grateful for his continued influence and friendship.
