BENOIT GRABS FIRST CAREER SPORTSMAN WIN IN 40-LAP SPECIAL

SEEKONK, Mass. — Former Fast Friday Pure Stock champion Doug Benoit has been showcasing his talent in the Helger’s Sportsman for a few years. On Saturday night, in the special 80th season Anniversary Series race for the Sportsman, a 40-lap main event, Benoit came out on top for his first career win after a thrilling battle over the final laps.

Benoit held off the challenges of Scott Serydynski Jr and Colby Lambert over the final laps to score his first career NASCAR Saturday checkered flag.

Serydynski and Lambert were back on the podium, now scoring top-five finishes in all races so far, along with Jeremy Lambert, who finished in fifth. Between them, Josh Gerard finished in the fourth spot.

Adam Pettey, Nick Brightman, Jimmy Silvia, Scott Bruneau and Nick Wood finished the top-10.

The Helger’s Sportsman will be back on the track for another main event on Saturday, July 12. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest updates.
