2025 Sunoco Drive for the Cup

Seekonk Speedway’s Drive for the Cup playoff format brings extra drama to the season finale! The regular season runs from May 1 through August 31, with all weekly points counting toward the standings. At the end of the regular season, the top six drivers in each division on both Fast Friday and NASCAR Saturday advance into the playoffs. From there, three weeks of September racing determine which four drivers move on to the Final Four. A unique playoff points system is used during these rounds, with drivers earning points based on how they finish against the other playoff contenders. The four highest in playoff points after three weeks earn their spot in the Final Four.

Championship Night is a winner-take-all showdown. The Final Four drivers qualify with time trials, line up together in the feature, and the highest-finishing of the four becomes the track champion. Regular season points continue to be tracked for full-season standings, but the official division champion is the winner of the Final Four. In the event of weather interruptions, Seekonk has clear rules for advancing drivers and setting the field. With bonus points for regular season champions, weekly head-to-head playoff battles, and a dramatic finale, the Seekonk Speedway playoff format guarantees fans and teams an exciting run to crown the ultimate champion.

CHAMPIONSHIP NIGHT  - SEPTEMBER 27TH @ 6PM

The Pro Stock championship battle includes the heavyweights of the division ready to slug it out for the Sunoco Drive For The Cup track championship.

The Final Four includes three former champions and three drivers who would love to add their name to that list.

With three bonus points on his side after a strong Rookie regular season, Jacob Burns leads the standings. Burns has been to Victory Lane three times in his Rookie year, looking like he’s in prime position to win the Rookie of the Year crown. Burns bested David Darling throughout the regular season to get the three bonus points - what could be a crucial jolt to get him into the Final Four to try and capture the championship in his first year. Burns also has the opportunity to win the Fast Friday Legends Cars title.

Darling looks to win an elusive ninth championship. After not originally planning to run full-time, Darling has been there weekly and been to Victory Lane once. He’s been consistent in the top-five, and although he hasn’t grabbed as many trophies as years past, Darling will be a major player in trying to add yet another championship to his resume.

Dylan Estrella, the defending Pro Stock champion, finished third in the regular season. Estrella definitely had a bit of a cold streak leading into the final race of the regular season, but turned it around, finishing on the podium in the final event. That momentum might be enough to help Estrella get back to the Final Four, and add his name to a short list of back-to-back champions.

Bobby Pelland III has been quiet at times during the 2025 season, yet to visit Victory Lane. But, Pelland has been fine-tuning, looking to be ready for when it comes time to race for the crown. Pelland has been in the Final Four before, and has come extremely close to being the champion the last two years. Is 2025 his year?

Vinnie Arrenegado captured his first career win on opening day, and has been around the top-five all year. Although he hasn’t had dominant speed, all it will take is a few weeks of success for the former Late Model champion to be a threat to capture his first Pro Stock gold.

Add Mark Jenison and you have six drivers to race for the title. Jenison is a former two-time Pro Stock champion, capturing the crown in the first two years of the playoff format in 2022 and 2023. Jenison will look to complete the unthinkable again this year and win both the Pro Stock and Late Model title in the same night - but - he will surely take only one if it happens.

The Pro Stock Sunoco Drive For The Cup includes events on September 6, 13, 20 and championship night on the 27th. The field will be dwindled down to the Final Four after the event on September 19, then, the highest finishing of the four finalists on championship night will be the track champion.

#35 CHASE BELCHER - 10 POINTS

#22RI MARK JENISON - 9 POINTS

#91 CHARLIE ROSE - 7 POINTS

#08 RICHIE MURRAY - 6 POINTS

#38 CONNOR SOUZA - 4 POINTS

PLAYOFF POINT STANDINGS

With an impressive regular season, Chase Belcher enters the Late Model Sunoco Drive For The Cup primed to chase his first championship. Belcher has been in the Final Four in the playoffs before and nearly captured the title - giving him crucial experience. The driver of the No. 35 Everett’s Auto Parts machine has been around the podium and the top-five weekly, including capturing a feature win.

But - are there others who can knock him off? Absolutely. The Late Model field may be one of the toughest to pick when it comes to figuring out who will make the Final Four.

Charlie Rose cooled off a bit in the final few weeks of the regular season, but it’s going to be no surprise when he turns up the heat come playoff time. Rose made the Final Four last year after a dominant regular season, but mechanical trouble on the final night impacted him. This year, he hopes to make it back and have a strong shot going into the 40-lap season-finale.

Andrew Gomes, the defending Late Model Rookie of the Year, ended the regular season with his first career checkered flag. Gomes had come close many times, but was able to hold off Mark Jenison and Connor Souza to capture the trophy for the first time. Gomes may be peaking at just the right time in his sophomore season to make a run.

Speaking of Jenison and Souza, both have advanced to race for the title. Jenison is a former Late Model champion, picking up a victory in the summer. The last time he ran the car he is running now racing for the championship - he won - in an epic finish that ended with him flipped over and still winning the title. Jenison’s determination is higher than ever with another shot to win both the Late Model and Pro Stock titles in the same year. Souza advanced to the playoffs with the help of Luke Lebrun not attending the final two regular season races, and has a shot to capture his first track title. He went to Victory Lane in one of the three Everett’s Triple Crown races earlier in the year and finished the regular season with a strong podium run, advancing to the playoffs even after missing the season opener.

The other contender racing for the Late Model championship is Richie Murray. The former Sport Truck champion has been in the Late Model Final Four before, coming oh so close to winning in 2022. Murray hasn’t won yet this season, but ended the regular season with podiums in multiple events. Murray has the experience, the car and the ability to make a major run at winning his second overall track title.

The Late Model Sunoco Drive For The Cup includes events on September 6, 13, 20 and championship night on the 27th. The field will be dwindled down to the Final Four after the event on September 19, then, the highest finishing of the four finalists on championship night will be the track champion.

#27 NICK WOOD - 5 POINTS

PLAYOFF POINT STANDINGS

The Sportsman division final six competitors ready to battle in the Sunoco Drive For The Cup includes a mix of a former champion, veterans, rising drivers and experience.

Colby Lambert won the regular season title, earning himself three crucial bonus points heading into the four-week stretch to decide the champion in December. Lambert came close last year, finishing just short of capturing his first Seekonk Speedway crown. He has been to Victory Lane multiple times this season, overcome adversity, and appears ready to make a serious run at winning the championship.

Adam Pettey, the defending champion, is going to give everything he’s got to go back-to-back. Pettey ended the regular season with a victory, providing him some momentum as he heads into the playoffs. Pettey captured the gold last year with a strong performance in the final race of the year, and if he makes the Final Four, another strong night will mark him down as a two-time champion.

Jeremy Lambert, Colby’s brother, has been consistent all season. Although he hasn’t won, Jeremy has been part of the top-five often and has come close to the checkered flag. As a former Pure Stock champion, who won his championship in the playoff format, Jeremy has the experience he needs to make a serious run.

Doug Benoit, a former Pure Stock champion himself, has been quiet most of the year. He tried a different setup for the first half, but ended up pulling out his faithful notebook and found the speed in the final two months of the regular season, including capturing a win. Benoit has the speed to contend for the crown when it comes time to shine.

The other two contenders in the Sunoco Drive For The Cup are certainly dark horses when it comes to the championship battle. Nick Wood and Nick Brightman both found their way in during the final few weeks, and both have shown signs of speed during the season. To win the championship, they will need to outrun four drivers who have been to Victory Lane this year. But - with a run to the Final Four a possibility - anything can happen in the season-finale.

The Sportsman Sunoco Drive For The Cup includes events on September 6, 13, 20 and championship night on the 27th. The field will be dwindled down to the Final Four after the event on September 19, then, the highest finishing of the four finalists on championship night will be the track champion.

#14 RICK MARTIN - 12 POINTS

#46 DANE SARITELLI - 9 POINTS

#20 ETHAN HEILBORN - 9 POINTS

#29 JAKE VANADA - 9 POINTS

#1 TIM BOLGER JR-  4 POINTS

#80 MIKE CAVALLARO - 0 POINTS

PLAYOFF POINT STANDINGS

The last three years, Rick Martin has been the one to beat in the Sport Truck division, sweeping all of the championships. As we enter the 2025 Sunoco Drive For The Cup, the short-track racing legend is in prime position to do it once again. Martin captured two wins in the regular season and also earned the three bonus points as the championship leader.

Martin has proven to have the speed. He’s proven to have the experience. And he’s going to be extremely tough to beat when it comes time to hoist the trophy in the air.

Perhaps his two top contenders are Jake Vanada and Ethan Heilborn. Vanada had a streak of podiums to finish the regular season, including another feature win. Heilborn earned the Everett’s Triple Crown Series title in 2025 and also won the final race of the regular season. Both of them have been consistently in the top-five most of the season and it would be no surprise if either of these two take Martin off the top and become champion.

Tim Bolger Jr and Dane Saritelli are the other two eligible playoff drivers. Bolger had quite an impressive 2024, but has cooled off at times in 2025. He’s been consistent around the top-five, but didn’t win in the regular season. Look for him to try and come out with a bang to kick-off the playoff stretch to try and make the Final Four.

Saritelli has come oh so close to his first career win more than a handful of times in 2025. Most recently, on the final night of the regular season, he looked to be in prime position before a flurry of late restarts. Saritelli will be tough to beat - especially because he’s hungry for it.

Mike Cavallaro also qualified for the Sport Truck playoffs, but with his injuries sustained in a wreck on August 16, he will be unable to compete.

The Sport Trucks Sunoco Drive For The Cup includes events on September 6, 13, 20 and championship night on the 27th. The field will be dwindled down to the Final Four after the event on September 20, then, the highest finishing of the four finalists on championship night will be the track champion.

#37 MATT TALBOT - 10 POINTS

#20 JARED CORDERIA - 6 POINTS

#66 ZACHARY KEITH - 3 POINTS

PLAYOFF POINT STANDINGS

With six drivers preparing for battle in the Pure Stock division in the Sunoco Drive For The Cup, it appears it could be anyone’s game in the race for the championship. Brent Robidoux, the defending champion, does enter as the clear favorite, entering three bonus points ahead of the competition and with momentum on his side.

Robidoux captured the gold last year in his rookie season and hasn’t slowed down one bit. Robidoux had four wins in the regular season, adding a total of eight podium runs in 10 events. The driver of the No. 25 will surely be one the others will need to battle to find their way to the championship table.

Ethan Souza finished the regular season in the second spot in points with one win to his credit. Consistency has been the name of the game for him over the last few years. He will need to continue to find his way to the top-five weekly in the playoffs to get into the final four, and if he gets there - he has the speed to be a major player in the season-finale.

Matthew Talbot won the Everett’s Triple Crown Series title with a win in the three-race finale, and had been getting faster and faster as the regular season came to a close. Looking for his first run at the championship, Talbot has proven to be considered a contender for the crown.

Mike Henriques has cooled off during the late summer after a strong start, but as the most veteran driver remaining in the field chasing the championship, the No. 03 can not be overlooked. Jared Cordeira is also another 'veteran' of the division and a former champion, in the first year of the playoff format. Although Cordeira hasn’t shown the winning speed the last few weeks, the playoffs is the perfect time for him to turn it on.

And perhaps the surprise of the Pure Stock playoffs is rookie contender Zachary Keith. Although he will go down to the wire racing for the rookie crown with Crystal Murray, Keith has a shot to do what Brent Robidoux did last year and win the overall championship in his first year. It would be quite the story for the Seekonk Youth Racing Association graduate.

The Pure Stocks Sunoco Drive For The Cup includes events on September 5, 12, 19 and championship night on the 26th. The field will be dwindled down to the Final Four after the event on September 19, then, the highest finishing of the four finalists on championship night will be the track champion.

PLAYOFF POINT STANDINGS

The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars field has been tight all year, with three drivers separating themselves at times from others. But, with six contenders ready to compete for the championship in the Sunoco Drive For The Cup, the finale race of the season on September 26 is preparing to be epic.

Jacob Burns picked up three bonus points as the leader at the end of the regular season. Burns had five wins during the regular season and only finished outside the top-five once. You would think he would have won the regular season crown by a lot - but it was close. Josh Parsons may have only been to Victory Lane once, but he was extremely consistent. Parsons and Burns both drive for Nick Lascuola Racing and both are veterans of the Legends Cars division. They will both be tough to beat when all the cards are on the table.

Chase Silvia has been impressive again in 2025, picking up multiple wins, including one that earned him the Everett’s Triple Crown title. Silvia has proven he can use the high side to success, and when it comes down to time to decide the champion, he appears to have what it takes to be right in the mix.

The other three contenders in the playoffs are Brenden LaBelle, Ryan Vanasse Jr and Richie Helger Jr. Of the three, Vanasse is the only driver to win this season - he captured his first career checkered flag in a massive race - the Nick Lascuola Racing Summer Showdown worth $2,000 to win on August 15. Vanasse came from the back of the field to charge to the win, using the top lane to pass Burns, Parsons and Silvia who were battling for the lead. Vanasse may be the sleeper of the playoffs to watch. He does have Final Four experience in the Bandolero division.

LaBelle has also put together quite an impressive season filled with top-five finishes. The former winner hasn’t carried the checkered flag yet, but a win to begin the playoffs could build momentum he needs to race for the crown.

And Helger is the defending champion! He’s been rather cool on the heat ladder most of the season, but he proved last year that when the pressure is on, he can accomplish the task. Can he sneak through and repeat as champion?

The Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars Sunoco Drive For The Cup includes events on September 5, 12, 19 and championship night on the 26th. The field will be dwindled down to the Final Four after the event on September 19, then, the highest finishing of the four finalists on championship night will be the track champion.

#1 JACOB BUDZYNA - 7 POINTS

#87 CHRISTINE CAVALLARO - 3 POINTS

PLAYOFF POINT STANDINGS

The Sunoco Drive For The Cup championship battle in the Sport 4 division appears to run through Richie Johnson.

After coming close to winning the crown last year, Johnson has been the most consistent car again in 2025. He captured three wins during the regular season, including the victory that earned him the Everett’s Triple Crown championship in August. Johnson is primed and ready - can he get the job done in the No. 8?

Behind him, there are five hungry drivers - four of them season winners. Jacob Budzyna ended the regular season with his first career win and three of four events on the podium in the stretch run. He’s been consistently in the top-five all year, only finishing outside it three times.

Arthur Meack won the final regular season event, marking his third of the year. Originally planning to share the ride with former champion Dave Westgate, Meack took the reins and brought them to the front of the field weekly in the regular season. Can he make a statement with a Sport 4 championship at Seekonk Speedway?

For Black Cat Racing, Daniel Hayes picked up his first career win late in the summer. He’s been in the Sunoco Drive For The Cup before, so knows what to expect. If the speed remains in the No. 14, he will be a contender. He’s joined by two females chasing him down - Christine Cavallaro and Samantha Sleboda.

Cavallaro hasn’t won, but was consistent in the regular season with three top-five finishes and many top-10s. Sleboda on the other hand is a season winner, capturing victory back on June 27. The stretch run of the season proved she’s ready for contention at the front of the field. Will the playoffs mark her time to shine?

The Sport 4’s Sunoco Drive For The Cup includes events on September 5, 12, 19 and championship night on the 26th. The field will be dwindled down to the Final Four after the event on September 19, then, the highest finishing of the four finalists on championship night will be the track champion

#03 JORDAN DUQUETTE - 5 POINTS

#30 DAVID BERNIER - 4 POINTS

PLAYOFF POINT STANDINGS

Eight different drivers have been to Victory Lane in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws this season, and six of them will be racing in the Sunoco Drive For The Cup to decide the championship in September. Allyha DeSomma had the most consistent season of the six, entering the playoffs with three extra bonus points as the regular season points leader.

DeSomma has two wins and six total podium finishes behind the wheel of the No. 10. The bonus points put her in the best position of all to try and advance into the Final Four with a shot to capture her first Seekonk Speedway championship.

Ryder Aguiar ended the regular season on a hot streak, capturing his first career win and a third-place finish. In total, Aguiar has finished on the podium in the last six Bandolero Outlaw events. Peaking at the right time, Aguiar will look to become the 80th season champion at the Action Track of the East.

Vincent Sarro won way back on opening night - and since then - he’s had a mix of ups and downs. But, he ended the regular season capturing two straight second-place finishes. With the anticipation growing, it looks like Sarro is in prime form for a run at the crown.

Jordan Duquette etched his name into Seekonk’s record books with his first win this season. He has been through the ups and downs himself, with podiums in four races. He may have cooled off late in the regular season, but the speed is there to regain the momentum and make a run.

David Bernier and Mason Silva have both been in the Championship Final Four before in the Bandolero Bandits. Bernier is the defending Bandit champion, moving up into the Outlaws this season and rocketing to Victory Lane once. The move to the Outlaws has proven to have its strengths at times for Bernier, who will look to continue his championship climb up Seekonk's division ladder. Silva, in the No. 31, put together a stretch of finishes of fourth or better in four of the last six regular season races.

The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws Sunoco Drive For The Cup includes events on September 5, 12, 19 and championship night on the 26th. The field will be dwindled down to the Final Four after the event on September 19, then, the highest finishing of the four finalists on championship night will be the track champion.

PLAYOFF POINT STANDINGS

The field of six contenders in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits getting ready to chase the championship includes three drivers who earned their first career win this season  and three still looking for their first checkered flag. All six in Seekonk’s youngest racing division are hoping to end the Sunoco Drive For The Cup etching their name into track history as a champion in the 80th season of competition at the Action Track of the East.

Carl Satterlund Jr. earned three bonus points and will enter the playoffs three ahead of everyone else. With a consistent regular season, Satterlund was on the podium in eight of 10 events and appears to be a major threat for the crown. With the second seed, Landon Solomito has the most wins of anyone - four - which include a total of eight podium runs. Solomito enters the playoffs with podium finishes in his last five races.

Jace Chaber, the three seed, won the first three races of the year. Although he cooled off a bit in the summer, Chaber was on the podium in four of the last seven, bringing the speed back. Landon Heim follows him, coming off a mid-summer stretch that included his first two career wins and some impressive runs.

Brook Meyer and Elias Dib are the final two playoff cars. Both of them have been around the top-five all year. Truth be told, they will need to elevate their game a bit to contend with the four above them. But, these two drivers have been learning more and more every week and are ready for the challenge.

The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits Sunoco Drive For The Cup includes events on September 5, 12, 19 and championship night on the 26th. The field will be dwindled down to the Final Four after the event on September 19, then, the highest finishing of the four finalists on championship night will be the track champion

Seekonk Speedway Playoff Format

Definitions:

Regular Season = Points races between May 1 and August 31

Seekonk Points = All weekly points earned at any Seekonk points event running from May 1 till end of the season.

Playoff Points - points run in addition to Seekonk points for six playoff cars used to establish final four contenders.

Playoff Season = 3 scheduled weeks of racing in September to determine Final Four

Championship Night - Winner Take All Race to determine track champion between final four playoff contenders

Championship Format

Regular Season will consist of all Seekonk Points races between May 1st and August 31st.

Top Six teams in SEEKONK points will advance to playoffs on both Friday and NASCAR Saturday, all divisions.

When the Seekonk Speedway regular season will conclude on the weekend of August 23-24. At the end of that weekend, the top six drivers in the point standings in each division will advance to the playoffs.

In the event of a rainout on that weekend, the points at the end of the most recent event will be used to determine the six playoff cars for both Friday & Saturday night. In the event of a tie for the final playoff spot, Seekonk Speedway’s general tiebreaker rules will be put in place to determine the final playoff car.

A playoff points format will be used to determine the Final Four. There will be no eliminations in the playoffs until after the third week of the playoffs. Playoff points are used only to determine the Final Four contenders.

The playoffs will be four scheduled weeks on both Fast Friday and NASCAR Saturday. Friday playoff dates include September 6, 13, 20 and championship night on the 27th. NASCAR Saturday playoff nights will include September 7, 14, 21 and championship night on the 28th.

The driver who leads the point standings at the end of the regular season will be automatically awarded 3 bonus points as the regular season champion, while all other cars entering the playoffs will begin with 0.

Drivers in the playoffs will be awarded points for their finish on the track in each event

6 will go to the highest-finishing playoff driver

5 to the second-highest-finishing playoff driver

4 to the third-highest-finishing playoff driver

3 to the 4th highest finishing playoff driver

2 to the 5th highest finishing playoff driver

1 playoff point to the last playoff driver

At the end of the three weeks, the four highest PLAYOFF points drivers will advance and be part of the Final Four Finale Championship Race.

On the NASCAR Saturday Championship Night, the Final Four contenders will kick-off the night by running one-by-one time trials. Only the Final Four drivers will time trial. The order in which they time trial from fastest to slowest will be the order in which they start the feature race. In order for a driver to start in their spot they earned, they must qualify inside the handicap through heat races. THE FOUR DRIVERS WILL START IN A GROUP IN THIS ORDER BEHIND THE NON PLAYOFF QUALIFIED CARS.

The Champion will be decided by the highest finishing driver out of the final four participants.

Notes :

  • NASCAR Saturday heat race points will not be included in the playoff points tally.

  • In the event of a tiebreaker for the Final Four spot, the total Seekonk points standings up to that point will be used to determine who advances, with the highest in the points among tied cars advancing. Further Ties would utilize general rules tiebreaking methods.

  • In the event of a rainout in any of the playoff events in the first three weeks, no races will have a rain date. If there are only two playoff weeks due to rain, the highest four after those two weeks will advance. Same with if two out of three events rain out. If all three September playoff events rained out the top four regular season points would compete in the final four.

  • For the championship weekend, the highest finishing of the Final Four drivers in that feature race will be the track champion in their respective division.

  • In the event of a rainout on the Final Four weekend, rain dates are in place. If those dates rain out, the season is over. The champion would be the highest of the Final Four drivers in the overall seekonk season point standings to that point.

  • A non playoff car that is the feature winner from the previous week cannot start in front of the playoff cars, even if qualified.

  • Seekonk Speedway will continue the overall season points grid for both Fast Friday and NASCAR Saturday throughout the season. The winner of the Final Four will be the champion for their division, but the second-place driver in the final standings will be the driver who gained the most points during the season, even if they didn’t make the Final Four.

  • For all playoff events, Seekonk’s general and technical rules are in effect. For all playoff rounds, the lineups for heat races and features will be the same it was in 2023 and 2022. The first in the lineup will be those who qualified through heat races but are not playoff cars. The qualified playoff cars will line up next based on a blind draw. The highest of the points drivers going into the race will draw first for the starting spot, followed by second, etc. Nothing from previous rounds/races in the playoffs matters when it comes to lineups.

  • The Playoff system will not impact Seekonk NASCAR State points or the INEX National Points. The Seekonk Speedway NASCAR Massachusetts State championship will be determined in the final race of the playoffs. The State champion will be the driver who earned the most NASCAR points across all track events for the season.

  • Points through the entire regular season and playoffs will be honored in the same manner as 50-48-46-44-42 & through the field. At the end of the final race of the playoffs, there will be a final points grid that includes the point totals from the entire season. The winner of the Drive For The Cup will be the Seekonk Speedway Track Champion and be awarded first place as champion.
