SEEKONK, Mass. — For the 110th time in his Seekonk Speedway career, Radical Rick Martin was celebrating in Victory Lane on Saturday night. Martin opened the 2024 season for the Chaz’s Auto Body Sport Trucks by rocketing to the front early, then holding off all challengers on multiple late restarts to win the first race of the season. Darryl Church worked his way through the field, challenging Martin late. He would settle for second after 25 laps, while Mike Duarte rounded out the podium in third. Duarte also challenged Martin for the top spot on multiple restarts during the race. Jake Vanada and Amy Arsenault both opened their 2024 inside the top-five, finishing fourth and fifth. DJ Thibeault, Lenny Guy, Mike Cavallaro, Tim Bolger and Marissa Morgan finished the top-10. The Chaz’s Auto Body Sport Trucks will be back on track on Saturday, May 18 for their second race of the season.

SEEKONK, Mass. — Two years ago, Richie Murray picked up his first career Seekonk Speedway Late Model win on opening day. Fast-forward to this year, Murray was back at the front of the field, winning on opening night once again in the No. 08. Murray started third and ran inside the top-three for the whole race. He passed Vinnie Arrenegado and Corey Fanning to take the lead, then held off Fanning late to score the feature win. Fanning finished second, while Chase Belcher had a strong opening night run, finishing in third. Vinnie Arrenegado and Connor Souza rounded out the top-five after 30 laps. Luke Lebrun finished sixth, with Charlie Rose, Brittany Campbell, Andrew Gomes and Mike Brightman completing the top-10. The Late Models will be back on track on Saturday, May 18 for their second race of the season. SEEKONK, Mass. — Former Seekonk Speedway Late Model winner and Sport Truck champion Josh Hedges added a Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman win to his resume on Saturday night. Driving the No. 21, Hedges started fourth and worked his way up to the lead, passing Greg Perry for the top spot around halfway. From there, Hedges had a host of challengers try to take it away. He held off Tyler Almeida on the final restart to score the win, but also had a tough battle with Scott Serydynski Jr. for the lead in the middle of the race. While Hedges won, Almeida opened the season with a strong second. Jeremy Lambert, a former Fast Friday Pure Stock champion, finished in third, while Doug Benoit and Colby Lambert rounded out the top-five. Colby had to charge through the field after an incident in the middle of the race. Nick Wood, Mackenzie Stevenson, Dane Saritelli, Perry and Mark Healy finished the top-10. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman will be back on track on Saturday, May 18 for their second race of the season. Fournier had a tough battle throughout the race with multiple challengers, including Bobby Pelland, but held everyone off to drive into Victory Lane. Vinnie Arrenegado made his Pro Stock debut a good one - charging through the pack to take the second spot at the end of 40 laps. Dick Benoit had a strong start to the season on the podium in third, while Mike Brightman and Pelland finished off the top-five after 40 laps.
