SEEKONK, Mass. — Seekonk Speedway’s summer stretch continues this weekend, with another two days of racing on Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20. Friday includes the final two round two events on Fast Friday in the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, with the Helger’s Pure Stocks (30 laps) and Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars (30 laps), ready to set their Triple Crown Final Four. Friday night racing will also include the Sport 4’s and both the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws for feature racing. It all begins at 7 p.m. The Rhode Island Shriners will be back at the track on Saturday night for their annual stop. Including a full midway display, the Shriners will help to bring the Trike Races back after the heat races. As one of the most popular events of the year, the Trike races allow children to feel the thrills of racing. Shriners night at the track is always one to remember. As the Pro Stocks hit the track for the American Racer Pro Stock 75, with $2,000 to win, there are many challengers who will be ready to chase the prize. Vinnie Arrenegado has finished second in every single Pro Stock race this year, and although he has been consistently up front, he would like to capture his first career win. Bobby Pelland is already a winner this year and has also been consistently in the top-five. Dylan Estrella, Mark Jenison and Mike Brightman, along with Colbey Fournier, have also been consistently near the front. Dick Benoit is coming off his first career Pro Stock win last week after a long time of trying. And how can we forget Dave Darling? The eight-time champion, who is running only part-time this year, is definitely a threat to go out and win the cash. American Racer, the division tire supplier, is proud to bring this major event to the track again in 2024. The Late Model division showcased another classic last week. Bobby Pelland III edged out Luke Lebrun by inches across the line to win. Lebrun has been consistently fast and currently is the division points leader heading to Saturday’s 30 lap feature, the final event of the night. As the division rolls to the end of July, there are at least eight different drivers in the field you can pick to win weekly. Other names to watch this week include consistent Charlie Rose, Jacob Burns, Mark Jenison, Connor Souza, Richie Murray, Chase Belcher and more. The Helger’s Sportsman will be back on the track for the first time since June 29. With just five races to go before the playoff cutoff, Colby Lambert leads Adam Pettey and Josh Hedges in the championship standings. Pettey, Hedges and Scott Serydynski Jr. are all currently inside the playoff cutoff as feature winners. Lambert, Tyler Almeida (4th) and Doug Benoit (6th) are also currently inside the cut, but without a win. Look for those three to try and be the one to break Adam Pettey’s streak of multiple races in a row. The Chaz’s Sport Trucks are also back on track for the second round of the Everett’s Triple Crown Series, set for 35 laps. Mike Duarte, Jake Vanada, Rick Martin, Tim Bolger Jr., Darryl Church and others have all been at the front of the field this season. As the Trucks get ready to set the Triple Crown Final Four, can someone like Amy Arsenault, Mike Cavallaro or others spark a victory Saturday night in the special event? Friday night racing brings the Legends Cars and Pure Stocks back to the track for round two of their Everett’s Triple Crown Series. The Pure Stock division seems to be chasing Brent Robidoux, as the Rookie of the Year contender picked up his second win last week. But, Mike Henriques and Jared Cordeira, who currently are at the top of the championship standings, have also been major threats and winners themselves. Names like Ethan Souza, Greg Perry, Bobby Bettencourt III, Danny Massa and others have also been at the front. The Legends Cars field is chasing Josh Parsons the last two weeks, and seem to be chasing four names overall: Parsons, Jacob Burns, Richie Helger Jr. and Brendan LaBelle. These contenders seem to show speed consistently and get the finishes to back it up. Will someone else step up and win this Friday’s 30-lap main event? Last week, the Bandits put on a thrilling show with Luka Dib edging Mason Silva and David Bernier. Their battle, which has been between the three of them all year, continues on Friday. In the Outlaws, Bryson Robidoux finally broke through and captured his first career win. This week, Brody Wakefield looks to rebound after lap one trouble last week. Names like Parker Davis, Nick Uhrig Jr., Ryder Aguiar and Zachary Keith will also be in the mix. The Sport 4 division has been quiet but continues to put on solid races. Matt Pion, Crystal Murray, Justin Leduc and Tyler Duhancik have all been to Victory Lane this year. Will someone add their name to the list this week? Seekonk Speedway will return to racing on Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20. Friday night racing begins at 7 p.m. while Saturday racing goes green at 6 p.m. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest news and updates.
