TRIPLEHEADER WEEKEND INCLUDES TRIPLE CROWN EVENTS, MILITARY & YOUTH SPORTS NIGHT & MONSTER TRUCKS6/12/2024 As the summer revs up, Seekonk Speedway has a tripleheader of racing planned this weekend. From June 14-16, the Action Track of the East will be filled with excitement with race cars and Monster Trucks both competing on the track on specific days. Fast Friday returns to the track on Friday, June 14, with five divisions of racing including three Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series races. On NASCAR Saturday, the Pro Stocks run their first Triple Crown event of the year on Military and Youth Sports night at Seekonk Speedway, joined by the Late Models, Sportsman and Sport Trucks. On Sunday, the Monster Trucks are in town for a Spring Dash, joined by the East Coast Towing & Recovery Spectator Drags for a Father’s Day special. All tickets purchased for the original Military Night on May 18 will be honored for NASCAR Saturday on June 15. Fast Friday includes Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series openers for the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits, Outlaws and Sport 4s. The Bandolero divisions run their normal 15-lap distance, while the Sport 4 class will go for 30 laps. In both the Bandits and the Outlaws, the track has welcomed multiple new winners this season - including names like David Bernier, Mason Silva, Luka Dib, Mike Hanafin and Brody Wakefield. In the Sport 4s, with three different winners in three weeks, there are still plenty of options out there for someone to make it four, hoping to join Matt Pion, Crystal Murray and Tyler Duhancik. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks and Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars will also be on track Friday. Like the Sport 4s, both of these divisions have seen three different winners in three weeks. Some names to watch to continue the trend in the Pure Stocks include Ethan Souza, Bobby Bettencourt III and Greg Perry, among others. In the Legends Cars, look for names like Mason Tessier, Chase Silvia, Josh Parsons, Rodney Dowless and others to contend. On NASCAR Saturday, the Pro Stocks take center stage in their third race of the season, the first in the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series. Rookie of the Year favorite Vinnie Arrenegado, the defending Late Model champion, is off to a hot start in the Pro Stocks, with two second-place finishes. Winners this season include Dylan Estrella and Colbey Fournier so far. Will one of these three capture the 60-lap feature on Saturday, or will someone like Mark Jenison, Dick Benoit or Mike Rotondo take center stage? The Late Models are back for their third event of the season after taking last week off with the American-Canadian Tour in town. Richie Murray has a win and a fifth-place finish in the first two events and leads the standings through the early part of the season. The battle in the last feature came right down to the wire, with Jacob “Rowdy” Burns holding off Charlie Rose to and others take down the win. Look out for names like Rose, Luke Lebrun, Jenison and Connor Souza, along with Arrenegado, who will all look for their first win of the season in the 30-lap feature on Saturday night. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman division will hit the track for 25 laps of their own, looking for a fourth different winner in four events. Josh Hedges, Scott Serydynski Jr. and Adam Pettey have already been on top, but there are a ton of other contenders looking to pounce. Former Fast Friday Pure Stock champion Doug Benoit, driving the old ride Craig Pianka drove to a championship two years ago, has been strong in recent weeks, along with Colby Lambert, Mike Mitchell and others. In the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks, Rick Martin has two wins in the first three races of the season. Mike Duarte has been the most consistent driver in the field, finding himself on the podium in all three races. Duarte, a former division champion, will have stiff competition like Jake Vanada, Amy Arsenault and others, all looking for their first win of 2024 this week. Or, can Martin continue his Sport Truck dominance in the 25-lap main event? On Sunday, the Monster Trucks invade Seekonk Speedway for the Spring Bash. The Monster Truck show includes Stinger Unleashed, War Wizard, Psyco-Pat, Shredder, Loud & Dirty and more! This show also includes the East Coast Towing and Recovery Spectator Drags and it all begins at 2 p.m. Tickets are available online in advance at SeekonkSpeedway.com. Speaking of tickets, they are available on the track website for all shows in advance. Buying tickets in advance will allow customers to skip the long lines on race day and also save some money.
