​Seekonk Speedway wishes to thank Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series Managing Partner and Seekonk champion car owner Wayne Darling for his efforts to make the 19th annual Open Wheel Wednesday a success. 


Wayne elected to chase funds to bump up the purse to honor seven-time Seekonk Speedway champion Vinny "Who" Annarummo, who passed away during the offseason. A dear friend of Wayne and many who worked with him, competed against him and cheered for him, Vinny was one of the best. On Thursday night, the Monaco Modifieds competed for $20,000 to win in a purse that was over $80,000 for a 34-car field that showed up in the pit area. The 19th annual Open Wheel Wednesday continued to showcase some of the best Modified racing in the Northeast.
