SEEKONK, Mass. — Last year, Adam Pettey entered the Sunoco Drive For The Cup playoffs as one of the top favorites for the Helger’s Sportsman championship. He came up short of his goal in 2023 - but the confidence was flowing when 2024 started. At the end of the year, Pettey is celebrated as the 2024 Helger’s Sportsman champion with sweet redemption. Saturday night, Pettey wheeled to the front and captured the win in the 35-lap season-finale — also winning the track title in the process. Colby Lambert, another Final Four contender, finished in second. He was followed by Mike Mitchell, Rob Kohler and Jacob “Rowdy” Burns, who was a late addition to the field, driving for Ed Perry. Nick Wood, Dick Benoit, Paul Williams, Steve Axon and Sparky Arsenault finished the top-10. The Helger’s Sportsman season is now complete.
