SEEKONK, Mass. — For the first time in a long time, Bobby Pelland III was celebrating in Seekonk Speedway Victory Lane on Saturday night in a Late Model. Pelland rolled to the lead quickly in the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, but he had to work for it. Luke Lebrun put up a fierce charge over the final laps, taking the top spot from Pelland on lap 20. From there, the two battled hard for many of the remaining circuits, knowing a spot in the Triple Crown finals was on the line. But Pelland fought back and made sure he finished the job. Lebrun followed him to the line in second, with Dave Darling charging through into third. Jacob Burns and Mark Jenison finished the top-five. Connor Souza, Derek Gluchacki, Richie Murray, Chase Belcher and Andrew Gomes rounded out the top-10. The Late Models will be back on track on Saturday, July 20 for 30 laps.
