SEEKONK, Mass. — Bobby Pelland III seized the opportunity in front of him on Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway. Pelland used the outside lane to fend off the challenges of Dylan Estrella to pick up the victory in the second race of the Sunoco Drive For The Cup for the Pro Stocks. Dave Darling and Vinnie Arrenegado tangled racing for the lead inside the final 15 laps, setting up Estrella at the point and Pelland to the outside. After the green, Estrella and Pelland raced side-by-side for many laps, but Pelland found the advantage he needed. Estrella would finish second, a strong run for him, enough to lock himself into the Final Four based on playoff points. Dick Benoit charged through to finish third a week after winning, while playoff contenders Mike Brightman and Mark Jenison followed in fourth and fifth. Darling, Arrenegado, Fournier, Martin and Gomes rounded out the top-10. Unofficially, the current Final Four drivers in the Pro Stocks would be: Estrella, Pelland, Brightman and Arrenegado. The Sunoco Drive For The Cup continues for the Pro Stocks with the third of four events on Saturday, September 21, at 6 p.m. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest news and updates.
