The stars and cars of seven of Seekonk Speedway’s divisions will be back on the track this weekend, joined by two invading divisions to make up a two-night racing card fans will not want to miss on July 12 and 13. On Friday, July 12, the Everett’s Triple Crown Series continues with both Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero divisions and the Sport 4’s on the track for Triple Crown action. It will be the second consecutive week both of these divisions do battle in the Triple Crown Series. They will be joined by the Helger’s Pure Stocks and Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars to make up a full Fast Friday card, beginning at 7 p.m. On Saturday, July 13, the NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites are in town for their annual Boston Louie Seymour Memorial Classic events, giving the Helger’s Sportsman and Chaz’s Sport Trucks the night off. The Late Models are going for round two of their Everett’s Triple Crown, set for 45 laps, while the Pro Stocks are also going to be back for a 40-lap main event. The program begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday evening. Tickets for both days of racing are available online in advance at SeekonkSpeedway.com. Fast Friday’s Bandolero divisions continue to produce some exciting racing for Seekonk’s youth competitors, with over a handful of first-time winners already this season. In the Bandit division, David Bernier, Mason Silva and Luka Dib have been extremely consistent, winning all of the races amongst themselves. In the Outlaws, the story has Brody Wakefield, Bryson Robidoux, Mike Hanafin, Parker Davis and Nick Uhrig Jr. up at the front. In the Sport 4’s, the current championship standings have Matt Pion at the top by 16 points over Richie Johnson. Although Johnson has been rather quiet this season, his breakout moment could be coming. Taylor Bowser is in third, with defending and two-time champion Crystal Murray and Justin Leduc not far behind heading into Friday’s 30-lap feature. The Helger’s Pure Stock division has been through multiple different winners so far this season - Jared Cordeira, Ethan Souza, Brent Robidoux and Mike Henriques. In the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends, Richie Helger Jr shows the way in their title battle, with Jacob Burns and Brenden LaBelle close behind. All three of them have won this year - along with Josh Parsons who is currently sixth in the standings. Some who haven’t won yet for fans to watch this week: Mason Tessier, Rodney Dowless and Chase Silvia. On NASCAR Saturday, the winged warriors of the NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites are back in town. The Boston Louie event will draw some of the top talent to Seekonk for this high-speed, open-wheel division and fans will not want to miss it, while also catching some weekly Seekonk racing, including round two of the Everett’s Triple Crown for the Late Models, set for 45 laps. Last year in the major event, Avery Stoehr picked up the NEMA Midgets win, while Jake Trainor went to Victory Lane in the NEMA Lite special. Both of those names will be back this year to defend their crowns. Trainor scored arguably the biggest win of his young career in 2023 in the Little 500. Former NASCAR star Ken Schrader will return to Seekonk to pilot a Seymour Racing No. 29 entry in the NEMA Lites. Fans can also be prepared to see open-wheel star Sammy Swindell competing on Saturday, driving for Bertrand mMotorsports in the No. 4. In total, over 30 winged warriors will head to the Action Track of the East between the two divisions. NEMA announcer Pete Falconi will be joined during the night by former TV Personality Jack Arute Sr. and former NASCAR announcer Allen Bestwick. In the Late Models, the second round of their Everett’s Triple Crown Series could see anyone up front at the end. So far this year, names like Charlie Rose, Richie Murray, Jacob Burns, Luke Lebrun and Chase Belcher have frequented runs at the front of the pack. Saturday’s 45-lap round two will see a strong field of cars to do battle. In the Pro Stocks, five races remain before the playoff cut time and Vinnie Arrenegado, a Rookie of the Year contender, leads the standings. He’s becoming comfortable finishing second every week, but would like to win before long. He’s currently four points up on Bobby Pelland, and nine points up on Dylan Estrella. These three have been among the most consistent so far this season. Two-time and defending champion Mark Jenison is fourth, while Colbey Fournier fifth and Mike Brightman finishing out the current top-six. Seekonk Speedway returns to racing on Friday, July 12 and Saturday, July 13. Tickets for both nights are available online in advance now at SeekonkSpeedway.com.
