SEEKONK, Mass. — In the final race of the regular season for the NASCAR Late Models on Saturday night, Luke Lebrun shook the monkey off his back. After having fuel issues a week prior, and not taking a lap in the feature, Lebrun started seventh on Saturday and rebounded in a big way. The driver of the No. 27 took the top spot from Chase Belcher in the final laps, then rolled to another win on the 2024 season. Lebrun is one of the six contenders moving on to compete for the championship in the Sunoco Drive For The Cup in September. While Lebrun won, Rookie of the Year contender Andrew Gomes drove through late and finished second. Belcher settled for third, followed by Mark Jenison and Brittany Campbell in the top-five. Richie Murray finished sixth, followed by Brendan LaBelle, Tyler Lallier, Nathan Tracey and Jarrod Freitas. The Late Models will return to the track for the first race of the Sunoco Drive For The Cup on Saturday, September 8.
