SEEKONK, Mass. — After a tough first round of the Sunoco Drive For The Cup in the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, defending champion Jacob “Rowdy” Burns rebounded in a big way in race two on Friday night. Burns jumped out front early in the 25-lap feature, then held off the charges of Chase Silvia over the final laps to score the feature win. With the victory, Burns boosted himself into a solid spot heading for the third race of the playoffs - the one that will help set the Final Four - next week. Chase Silvia, who won the first race of the playoffs, finished second on Friday. Silvia tried the bottom on Burns after the two made a bit of contact off turn two, and then they raced side-by-side over the final laps to the checkered flag. With a victory and a second-place finish in two races, Silvia is also in a good spot in the playoff tally. The remainder of the top-five on Friday included Richie Helger Jr., Josh Parsons and Mason Tessier. They were followed by Ryan Vanasse Jr., Brenden LaBelle, Kevin Nowak, Kevin Davis and Dylan Calabro. Unofficially, the current Final Four drivers would be: Silvia, Burns, Helger and Tessier. The Sunoco Drive For The Cup continues for the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars with the third of four events on Friday, September 20, at 7 p.m. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest news and updates.
