SEEKONK, Mass. -- Luka Dib opened his bid for the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandit championship in fine style on Friday night at Seekonk Speedway. Dib jumped out front and rocketed to the top spot quickly, then held off the charges of David Bernier to score the feature win. The victory marked another triumph for Dib this season, who has put together an impressive run leading into the playoffs. Bernier, who led the standings at the end of the regular season, finished second in the first playoff event. They were followed by Mason Silva, Jase Chaber, Carl Satterlund Jr. and Ayla Martin - all playoff contenders. After the first race of the playoffs, Bernier, Dib, Silva and Chaber currently hold the Final Four spots. The Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits will return to the track for round two of the Sunoco Drive For The Cup on Friday, September 13, another 15-lap feature.
