SEEKONK, Mass. — Many time Late Model champion Gerry DeGasparre Jr. was back in Victory Lane on Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway - but it wasn’t in the Late Models. DeGasparre found himself at the front of the field driving the Marcou Motorsports No. 18 Sportsman and picked up the victory in the Helger’s Sportsman in the 25-lap feature on Saturday night. A new combination this season, DeGasparre has found success with a rising team in Seekonk’s Division III class and was ecstatic to be back on top. Jimmy “Pepe” Silvia returned to the podium, finishing a strong weekend for his family with a second-place finish. Colby Lambert joined both of them on the podium, posting a strong third-place effort. Josh Hedges and Scott Serydynski Jr finished off the top-five. Crystal Serydynski, Adam Pettey, Corey Fanning, Doug Benoit and Dane Saritelli rounded out the top-10. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman will be back on the track on Saturday, July 27, as the Pro All Star Series comes to town.
