SEEKONK, Mass. — The second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series for the Pro Stocks came down to the final laps, and it was a thrilling finish that marked the end of the 60-lap feature when the checkered flag went into the air.
Dylan Estrella used the outside lane on a restart inside the final 10 laps to gain the edge over Mike Brightman, and then had to hold Brightman off in the final circuits to take the win. Brightman led much of the race, but the late caution gave Estrella one more shot, and the Everett’s Auto Parts driver didn’t disappoint. David Darling rebounded from early trouble to chase up through the field and finish third, while Bobby Pelland and Dick Benoit completed the top-five after 60 circuits. Benoit challenged inside the podium for much of the middle of the race, continuing to show speed in his No. 47 machine. Kevin Casper, Mark Jenison, Tommy Adams, Mike Rotondo and Billy Brady finished off the top-10 spots. The Pro Stocks will be back on track on Saturday, August 12 for another feature. They will be off next Saturday, July 29, but many of the regulars will run with the Pro All Star Series in the 150-lap contest. Seekonk Speedway has a full card of racing scheduled this Saturday, July 1, as Fast Friday takes the week off and the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series divisions take center stage. Headlined by the $2,000 to win American Racer Pro Stock 75, the night also includes the second round of Everett’s Triple Crown Series action for the Helger’s South Coast Power Sportsman, the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks and Late Models. The Pro Stocks returned to competition for the first time in almost a month on June 24, competing in round one of the Everett’s Triple Crown. David Darling returned to his dominant ways, jumping out front just before halfway and never looking back. Even though he’s running part-time, he’s the favorite again this week as he returns for the $2,000 to win American Racer 75 showdown. Colbey Fournier and Bobby Pelland III joined him on the podium last week — two drivers that have shown early in the season their packages are improved from 2022. Both are expected to win this season. Mike Brightman and Dylan Estrella already have wins, joining Darling, while names like Rick Martin, Tommy Adams, Tom Scully Jr and others would love to get their first of the season in the special event. American Racer is the tire supplier for Seekonk’s Pro Stocks and Late Models. They have worked tremendously with the track through tire shortages, the COVID pandemic and many other challenges the last few seasons. They are proud to present this special $2,000 to win race with $1,500 on the line for second and $1,100 for third and a full purse throughout the field. “We’re always excited for this race and appreciate Seekonk Speedway for all of their efforts and having this event on the schedule again this year,” Bill Galloway of American Racer Tires, said. “The Pro Stock division at Seekonk is one of the most competitive in all of New England when it comes to the top divisions. We are looking forward to watching them battle for some extra cash in their extra-distance American Racer 75 race.” On top of the Pro Stocks, the Sportsman also take center stage with their 35-lap feature in the Triple Crown Series. Back in round one, Steve Axon and Chad Baxter battled side-by-side for many laps to the finish, with Axon inching him out for the win. The division is also coming off one of the most exciting races in the last decade this past weekend, with a four-wide battle on the final lap that saw Colby Lambert come out on top. Jimmy “Pepe” Silvia was back at the top of the division for the first time in many years and names like Adam Pettey, Baxter, Axon and more will be looking to score this Saturday night. Don’t miss the main event for one of the most exciting divisions in all of New England. The Late Models are all chasing Luke LeBrun through the last two races, as the driver of the No. 27 has won them both. Jacob “Rowdy” Burns and Chase Belcher were on the podium with him last week. Early in the season, LeBrun leads defending champion Mark Jenison by five points, Burns by 12 and Belcher by 16. Vinnie Arrenegado, Corey Fanning, Charlie Rose and others will be back this week for another run. After a photo finish last week, Brittany Campbell picked up her second win of the season in the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks, holding off Mike Duarte in a wild dash to the line. As the championship points continue to update heading for the Sunoco Drive For The Cup, Duarte now leads Campbell by seven points at the top. Duarte, a former champion, has top-five finishes in all events so far this season. This Saturday, the division returns for 25 laps. Look for these two drivers and Rick Martin, Darryl Church, Jake Vanada, Amy Arsenault, Tom Scully III, Bobby Tripp and others in their main event. Fans should begin watching the point standings entering July. With the end of August right around the corner, when the field will be set for the Sunoco Drive For The Cup in each division, the battle to make the top eight will continue to spice up around the cutoff point. SEEKONK, Mass. — Ben Tinker couldn’t have asked for a much better night when the 350 SMAC Supermodifieds invaded Seekonk Speedway on Wednesday night. Racing as part of the annual Open Wheel Wednesday with a 40-lap race, Tinker dominated, leading all of the laps en route to a dominating victory. After Tinker took control, the race for second was on in the final laps between Brad Babb and Kenny White Jr. With a last-lap pass, Babb was able to get around and finish in the runner-up spot. White was able to finish third, followed by Dave Helliwell and Bobby Timmons III. The thrills of the small-block supermodifieds racing around the third-mile Seekonk Speedway with lap times just over 11 seconds per circuit thrilled a packed house on Wednesday. SEEKONK, Mass. — Colby Lambert got back to Seekonk Speedway Victory Lane for the first time in many years on Saturday night. Driving the No. 54 in the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman, Lambert came out on top of a thrilling battle that saw the leaders almost four-wide during the final few laps of the race. Jimmy “Pepe” Silvia returned to the front of the class for the first time in many years, racing hard with Lambert for much of the event, along with Randy Moretti and Adam Pettey. The four drivers swapped the front positions back and forth over the final laps, with Pepe running his famed outside lane keeping the fans on the edge of their seats. In the final lap, the field crossed the line at the white flag three-wide with Pepe on the outside, Lambert in the middle and Pettey looking to the bottom. When they came around for the checkered, Lambert held them all off for the win, with Silvia in second and Pettey finishing third, marking yet another podium for him. Moretti and former champion Chad Baxter followed in fourth and fifth. Defending champion Craig Pianka finished sixth, followed by Steve Axon, Tyler Almeida, Don Perry and Crystal Serydynski. The American-Canadian Tour returns to Seekonk Speedway on Saturday, June 3rd for the Spring Green as the iconic event celebrates it's 48th edition at it's sixth different hosting track!
Barre, VT -- One of the American-Canadian Tour’s cornerstone events, the iconic Spring Green, rolls off for the 48th time this Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway. Seekonk will serve as the sixth different host for the longtime ACT standard and could prove to be its most spectacular. In recent years, Seekonk has held the most hotly contested events on the circuit with spectacular duels to the finish line but this time an added challenge awaits the ACT stars as new pavement laid down in the corners of ‘The Cement Palace.’ The best of crew chiefs and drivers will have to come out as everyone looks to join the Spring Green wins list and jump forward in the Brookside Equipment Sales Southern New England Triple Crown point standings. Starting off as the season-opener for the beloved Catamount Stadium in Milton, Vermont throughout the 1970s until the track’s final season in 1987, the Spring Green annually received its lap count based on the year it was held, a tradition continued in 2023. Over the years, the Spring Green has also been held at Sanair Super Speedway in Quebec, New York’s Airborne Speedway, Vermont’s Devil’s Bowl Speedway and, most recently, at New Hampshire’s White Mountain Motorsports Park. Such icons as Dave Dion, Bobby and Beaver Dragon, Junior Hanley, Brian Hoar and Eddie MacDonald have stood in Spring Green victory lane, but Seekonk is a far different beast. With new pavement in the corners and worn asphalt on the straightaways, the Seekonk regulars may finally have the upper hand. In 17 ACT events since 1983, a Seekonk regular has yet to stand victorious in the winner’s circle but a strong NASCAR Advance Auto Parts weekly Late Model group, headed by 2022 track champion Mark Jenison, are all looking to crack into the wins list as the first. In order to do so, the locals will have to tackle the likes of D.J. Shaw. The current leader of the ACT point standings, and defending champion, Shaw has made Seekonk his safety after taking a second-place finish in 2021 and a spectacular win over Jacob Burns in 2022 after eleven lead changes. Derek Gluchacki is in desperate need of a strong run after his motor expired at Lee USA Speedway with Jimmy Renfrew Jr., Gabe Brown, Jonathan Bouvrette, Cam Huntress and Jason Corliss all looking to continue their strong momentum. The American-Canadian Tour returns to action at Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk, Massachusetts for the 48th Spring Green 123 on Saturday, June 3rd. One of Tour’s most iconic events gets its first try at ‘The Action Track of the East’ with the ACT stars going head-to-head with the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series Late Models in a classic early-summer battle! The Spring Green 123 also serves as Round #2 of the Brookside Equipment Sales Southern New England Triple Crown. The Seekonk Pro Stocks will also be in action for the Scully Memorial 55 plus the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman and the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks. Post Time is set for 6:00pm. For more information, contact the ACT offices at (802) 244-6963, media@acttour.com, or visit www.acttour.com. You can also get updates on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at @ACTTour. SEEKONK, Mass. — Jacob “Rowdy” Burns had all sorts of struggles in the opening day feature for the Late Models at Seekonk Speedway, but week two was a different story. Burns battled seven-time division champion Gerry DeGasparre Jr. hard for the lead early in the race, and then when DeGasparre had problems, Burns wasn’t going to be denied. He drove the No. 30 to Victory Lane in dominating fashion in the final laps, as the rising star pulled away from a side-by-side battle between Mark Jenison and Chase Belcher for second in the final circuits. Jenison would get the better of Belcher, with Chase following close behind in third at the end of 30 laps. Vinnie Arrenegado raced from his eighth-place starting spot after winning on opening day to finish in fourth, while pole sitter Connor Souza hung on for a top-five finish. Luke Lebrun was sixth, followed by Richie Murray, Charlie Rose, Corey Fanning and Kevin Bowe. The Late Models will return to the track on Saturday, May 20 with another 30-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest news and updates. SEEKONK, Mass. — Right from early in the day in the opener of the Seekonk Speedway season, it was clear Ryan Lineham was going to be one of the drivers to beat in the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman. Lineham worked from the pole position in his heat race and scored the win, then started from the pole in the feature and led the entire 25 laps to score the season-opening victory. While Lineham won, the story of the race was a mid-race chaos crash in turn three, collecting many of the front-running cars. When Steve Axon had mechanical problems, many cars were collected including Axon, Chris Gomes, Kyle Casper and others. Once the race went back green, Lineham drove away with the win while Randy Moretti and Adam Pettey were left to battle for second, with Moretti coming out on top. Pettey finished third, with Craig Pianka and Don Perry finishing the top-five. Chris Rioux wrapped the race sixth, followed by Chad Baxter, Tim Watson, Tyler Almeida and Jimmy “Pepe” Silvia. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman will return to the track for another 25-lap feature as part of Saturday night NASCAR racing on May 13. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com. SEEKONK, Mass. — As she kicked-off her Busch Light Accelerate Her program in style, Brittany Campbell parked her No. 8 Truck in Victory Lane on Sunday to open the season at Seekonk Speedway. Racing in the Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks, Campbell raced multiple grooves battling for the lead, but in the final laps, pulled away from the competition. She had to face the charges of names like Amy Arsenault, Mike Duarte and others. In the end, it was all her at the front driving the Truck right into Victory Lane. Duarte, a former division champion, would settle for second at the finish, followed by defending champion Rick Martin in third. Darryl Church opened the season with a strong run in fourth and Arsenault settled for fifth after some mid-race trouble. Jake Vanada finished sixth, with Marissa Morgan, Bobby Tripp, Tom Scully III and Manny Dias finishing the top-10. The Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks will return to the track for another 25-lap feature as part of Saturday night NASCAR racing on May 13.
