TOP NAMES LIKE KEN SCHRADER, SAMMY SWINDELL TO VISIT MASSACHUSETTS THIRD-MILE AS NEMA CONTINUES ANOTHER SEASON SEEKONK, Mass. — The NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites are coming back to Seekonk Speedway Speedway next Saturday, July 13, for their annual Massachusetts major event - the Boston Louie Seymour Memorial. The Boston Louie Seymour Memorial classic honors Boston Louie, who passed away in 1996, and was a successful car owner. The race is long known as one of the top short-track Midget races in the country each year and is drawing some major interest once again in 2024. The NEMA Lites, NEMA Midgets and Seekonk’s NASCAR Pro Stocks and Late Models will round out a full card on Saturday, July 13, with races beginning at 6PM. The Boston Louie event will draw some of the top talent to Seekonk for this high-speed, open-wheel division and fans will not want to miss it, while also catching some weekly Seekonk racing, including round two of the Everett’s Triple Crown for the Late Models, set for 45 laps. Last year in the major event, Avery Stoehr picked up the NEMA Midgets win, while Jake Trainor went to Victory Lane in the NEMA Lite special. Both of those names will be back this year to defend their crowns. Trainor scored arguably the biggest win of his young career in 2023 in the Little 500 and his name is growing across all of open-wheel action. Former NASCAR star Ken Schrader will return to Seekonk to pilot a Seymour Racing No. 29 entry in the NEMA Lites, the same car he did last year. Fans can also be prepared to see open-wheel star Sammy Swindell competing on Saturday, driving for Bertrand mMotorsports in the No. 4 in the NEMA Lites. In total, over 30 winged warriors will head to the Action Track of the East between the two divisions. NEMA announcer Pete Falconi will be joined during the night by former TV Personality Jack Arute Sr. and former NASCAR announcer Allen Bestwick, along with Seekonk announcers Kevin Boucher and Myles Heger. The top stars of the NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites will also be on hand to continue their championship battles. Just a few weeks ago, the NEMA Lites were part of Open Wheel Thursday, with Ben Mikitarian rocketing to Victory Lane in their 50-lap competitive main event. As the series heads for Seekonk, the Lites championship battle includes names like Kyle Valeri, Randy Cabral, Joey Bailey and Dylan Coutu. In the NEMA Midgets, fans should keep an eye out for names like Paul Scally, Dylan Rock, defending winner Stoehr, Cabral and Doug Cleveland. When it comes to Midget racing at Seekonk Speedway, Randy Cabral is no stranger to winning. The local competitor has won multiple times across New England competing competitively with the NEMA Midgets for many, many years, as a multiple-time champion. Seekonk Speedway welcomes back the NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites for their annual Boston Louie Seymour Memorial Classic on Saturday, July 13. A full night of racing includes both divisions, along with Seekonk’s Late Models in the second round of their Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown, set for 45 laps, and the Pro Stocks, with 40 laps. Fast Friday will also be on the track on July 12.
