SEEKONK, Mass. — Last year, Bobby Pelland III captured the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown title in the Pro Stocks. This year, he started off his quest to defend that crown on the right foot. Pelland took the lead from Mike Brightman in the middle of the race and then drove away from his contenders to take his first win of the season in the 60-lap event. Pelland started in the middle of the pack, but it didn’t take him long to charge to the front. In a race that was filled with cautions throughout, Pelland took the lead, but then had to hold off a few challengers on restarts. He wasn’t to be denied. Vinnie Arrenegado continued his Pro Stock Rookie of the Year quest with a third consecutive finish on the podium to open the season. He even pitted during the race this time and charged back through to finish second. He was followed by Dylan Estrella, who won the week before, finishing in third. Mark Jenison and Jeramee Lillie followed to finish the top-five after 60 laps. Mike Rotondo, Dick Benoit, Chris Gomes, Kenny Spencer and Rick Martin finished the top-10. The Pro Stocks will be back on track on Saturday, June 22, for another 40-lap feature. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media.
