SEEKONK, Mass. — In the first of two visits to Seekonk Speedway for the NEMA Lites this season, Ben Mikitarian made sure it was clear he was going to be the one to beat on Thursday night at the Action Track of the East. Mikitarian dominated the 50-lap NEMA Lite feature as part of Open Wheel Wednesday, an event run one day late on Thursday, June 27 due to weather, scoring the feature win. Mikitarian jumped out front and drove away from all challengers in a race that started 17 NEMA Lites. He had to deal with some lapped traffic in the final laps, but it didn’t change the outcome. Former Seekonk NEMA winner Paul Scally finished in second spot, saying after the race that he was happy with a strong podium effort. Kyle Valeri had a third-place finish, while Dylan Coutu and Joey Bailey completed the top-five. The NEMA Lites will be back at Seekonk Speedway on Saturday, July 13, as part of the Boston Louie Seymour Memorial for the NEMA Lites and NEMA Midgets, along with Seekonk’s NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Pro Stocks and Late Models.
