SEEKONK, Mass. — Friday, July 12 will be a night the Robidoux family will never forget at Seekonk Speedway.
Both Bryson Robidoux and Brent Robidoux celebrated in Victory Lane at the end of their respective feature events on Fast Friday. Bryson captured his first career win in the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaws, while Brent captured his second career Pure Stock win in just his fifth start. The victory combination marks one of the first times in known Seekonk Speedway history that a brother combination has won on the same night. This is a historic night - again showcasing the youth program that Seekonk Speedway has. The Lebrun family, with Luke and Eric Lebrun Jr., also won races on the same night in 2015. Brent moved through the Bandolero divisions prior to this season, and now competes in the Pure Stocks, likely preparing himself to move up to NASCAR Saturday in the future. Bryson moved from the Bandits to the Outlaws, and will soon move to the Pure Stocks next season as well. The Robidoux family has been racing at Seekonk Speedway for years. This night definitely tops everything else. “It’s unbelievable,” Bryson said after climbing out in celebration. “I’ve wanted to win here ever since I was a little kid and follow in my dad’s footsteps and my entire family. I’m just so happy.” “This isn’t what I had in mind, I didn’t even know if I was driving this car or not at the beginning of the year,” Brent said in Victory Lane when asked about winning multiple races so quickly in his Rookie year. It’s really good that both of us could win on the same night and Bryson could get his first win here (at Seekonk). Feel great.” Both Bryson (Bandolero Outlaws) and Brent (Pure Stocks) will be back on the track for the next Fast Friday on Friday, July 19, beginning at 7PM. SEEKONK, Mass. — Seekonk Speedway’s summer stretch continues this weekend, with another two days of racing on Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20. Friday includes the final two round two events on Fast Friday in the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, with the Helger’s Pure Stocks (30 laps) and Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars (30 laps), ready to set their Triple Crown Final Four. Friday night racing will also include the Sport 4’s and both the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits and Outlaws for feature racing. It all begins at 7 p.m. The Rhode Island Shriners will be back at the track on Saturday night for their annual stop. Including a full midway display, the Shriners will help to bring the Trike Races back after the heat races. As one of the most popular events of the year, the Trike races allow children to feel the thrills of racing. Shriners night at the track is always one to remember. As the Pro Stocks hit the track for the American Racer Pro Stock 75, with $2,000 to win, there are many challengers who will be ready to chase the prize. Vinnie Arrenegado has finished second in every single Pro Stock race this year, and although he has been consistently up front, he would like to capture his first career win. Bobby Pelland is already a winner this year and has also been consistently in the top-five. Dylan Estrella, Mark Jenison and Mike Brightman, along with Colbey Fournier, have also been consistently near the front. Dick Benoit is coming off his first career Pro Stock win last week after a long time of trying. And how can we forget Dave Darling? The eight-time champion, who is running only part-time this year, is definitely a threat to go out and win the cash. American Racer, the division tire supplier, is proud to bring this major event to the track again in 2024. The Late Model division showcased another classic last week. Bobby Pelland III edged out Luke Lebrun by inches across the line to win. Lebrun has been consistently fast and currently is the division points leader heading to Saturday’s 30 lap feature, the final event of the night. As the division rolls to the end of July, there are at least eight different drivers in the field you can pick to win weekly. Other names to watch this week include consistent Charlie Rose, Jacob Burns, Mark Jenison, Connor Souza, Richie Murray, Chase Belcher and more. The Helger’s Sportsman will be back on the track for the first time since June 29. With just five races to go before the playoff cutoff, Colby Lambert leads Adam Pettey and Josh Hedges in the championship standings. Pettey, Hedges and Scott Serydynski Jr. are all currently inside the playoff cutoff as feature winners. Lambert, Tyler Almeida (4th) and Doug Benoit (6th) are also currently inside the cut, but without a win. Look for those three to try and be the one to break Adam Pettey’s streak of multiple races in a row. The Chaz’s Sport Trucks are also back on track for the second round of the Everett’s Triple Crown Series, set for 35 laps. Mike Duarte, Jake Vanada, Rick Martin, Tim Bolger Jr., Darryl Church and others have all been at the front of the field this season. As the Trucks get ready to set the Triple Crown Final Four, can someone like Amy Arsenault, Mike Cavallaro or others spark a victory Saturday night in the special event? Friday night racing brings the Legends Cars and Pure Stocks back to the track for round two of their Everett’s Triple Crown Series. The Pure Stock division seems to be chasing Brent Robidoux, as the Rookie of the Year contender picked up his second win last week. But, Mike Henriques and Jared Cordeira, who currently are at the top of the championship standings, have also been major threats and winners themselves. Names like Ethan Souza, Greg Perry, Bobby Bettencourt III, Danny Massa and others have also been at the front. The Legends Cars field is chasing Josh Parsons the last two weeks, and seem to be chasing four names overall: Parsons, Jacob Burns, Richie Helger Jr. and Brendan LaBelle. These contenders seem to show speed consistently and get the finishes to back it up. Will someone else step up and win this Friday’s 30-lap main event? Last week, the Bandits put on a thrilling show with Luka Dib edging Mason Silva and David Bernier. Their battle, which has been between the three of them all year, continues on Friday. In the Outlaws, Bryson Robidoux finally broke through and captured his first career win. This week, Brody Wakefield looks to rebound after lap one trouble last week. Names like Parker Davis, Nick Uhrig Jr., Ryder Aguiar and Zachary Keith will also be in the mix. The Sport 4 division has been quiet but continues to put on solid races. Matt Pion, Crystal Murray, Justin Leduc and Tyler Duhancik have all been to Victory Lane this year. Will someone add their name to the list this week? Seekonk Speedway will return to racing on Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20. Friday night racing begins at 7 p.m. while Saturday racing goes green at 6 p.m. For more information on Seekonk Speedway, visit SeekonkSpeedway.com and follow the track on social media for the latest news and updates. SEEKONK, Mass. — For the first time in a long time, Bobby Pelland III was celebrating in Seekonk Speedway Victory Lane on Saturday night in a Late Model. Pelland rolled to the lead quickly in the second round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series, but he had to work for it. Luke Lebrun put up a fierce charge over the final laps, taking the top spot from Pelland on lap 20. From there, the two battled hard for many of the remaining circuits, knowing a spot in the Triple Crown finals was on the line. But Pelland fought back and made sure he finished the job. Lebrun followed him to the line in second, with Dave Darling charging through into third. Jacob Burns and Mark Jenison finished the top-five. Connor Souza, Derek Gluchacki, Richie Murray, Chase Belcher and Andrew Gomes rounded out the top-10. The Late Models will be back on track on Saturday, July 20 for 30 laps. After many years of trying in the Pro Stocks, Benoit was celebrating on Saturday night at the Action Track of the East. His first career Pro Stock win came in dominating fashion, as the driver of the No. 47 rolled to the front right away from pole spot and never looked back. Vinnie Arrenegado was the runner-up - marking yet another second place finish. Arrenegado has now finished in the runner-up spot in every single Pro Stock event this season. He was followed by Dave Darling, who finished third after starting 10th. Mike Brightman and Saturday’s Late Model winner Bobby Pelland rounded out the top-five. Mark Jenison finished sixth, followed by Dylan Estrella, Colbey Fournier, Tommy Adams and Kenny Spencer. The Pro Stocks will be back on track on Saturday, July 20, for another 40-lap feature. SEEKONK, Mass. — The NEMA Midgets and NEMA Lites are known for wings, quick times and high speed excitement. Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway, all of those came together into one for the annual Boston Louie Seymour Memorial Classic events. Both divisions were on hand - the Lites for 50 laps - and the NEMA Midgets for 29. The Lites race took just 10 minutes to complete and so did the NEMA feature. At the end of it all, Avery Stoehr (NEMA) and Chase Locke (Lites) were celebrating in Victory Lane. Locke won the 50-lap Lite feature in dominating fashion, leading all of the laps. He bested Todd Bertrand, Jake Trainor, PJ Stergios and Paul Scally to take down the big win. In the NEMA Midgets, Stoehr also led all of the laps. Paul Scally chased him to the line in second, marking two top-fives in the same night for him. John Zych, Randy Cabral and Matt O’Brien followed in third through fifth. Seekonk Speedway wishes to thank Bobby Seymour and his entire team for their efforts to make the event possible. SEEKONK, Mass. — New to the Helger’s Pure Stocks, Brent Robidoux is looking like a veteran. The driver of the No. 25 jumped out front from his fifth-place starting position and didn’t look back in Friday’s 25-lap feature, rocketing to Victory Lane for the second time in his young career. As a graduate of the Seekonk Youth Racing Association, Robidoux is quickly proving he is going to be a threat right up through the ranks. Mike Henriques charged up to the second spot at the end of the feature, posting yet another podium for his 2023 season, a strong run. Jared Cordeira, also a common contender on the podium this season, finished in third. Bobby Bettencourt III led laps early and finished fourth, with Danny Massa rounding out the top-five. Ethan Souza, Matt Talbot, Greg Perry, Timmy Ouellette and Josh O’Hara finished the top-10. The Helger’s Pure Stocks will be back on the track on Friday, July 19, for another main event.
