SEEKONK, Mass. — It’s quickly become what is going to be one of the busiest two days at Seekonk Speedway all season, and it’s this week.

Fast Friday returns to the track on Friday, June 9, with a full five-division card of racing at 7 p.m., while Saturday, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour invades the track for their only visit of 2023.

Saturday nights card will also include three NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Racing Series divisions — the Late Models, Sportsman and Sport Trucks — and all three will compete in round one of their Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour heads to Seekonk after a one-week break in their season for 150 laps on Saturday. Last time out, Matt Hirschman rocketed to Victory Lane at Lee USA Speedway to become the fifth Tour winner in five races on May 27. As they head back to Seekonk for race six, Ron Silk leads the championship standings by three points over Justin Bonsignore. Silk, Bonsignore, Hirschman, Austin Beers and Doug Coby are the five winners so far in 2023. Two of them (Bonsignore and Coby) are previous Seekonk Whelen Modified Tour winners. In 10 previous Tour races at Seekonk, no driver has been to Victory Lane twice. Will that change this week in a stout field?

The Late Models, Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman and Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks are also going to be in action Saturday, all with extra laps in the first round of their Triple Crowns. In the Late Models, the two races in the books so far went to Vinnie Arrenegado and Jacob “Rowdy” Burns, but multiple big names are off to strong starts. Defending champion Mark Jenison, Chase Belcher, Richie Murray and others look to add their name to the winners list this Saturday in the 45-lap main event.

The Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks two events saw Jake Vanada and Brittany Campbell come out of the box swinging in Victory Lane. Defending champion Rick Martin is just one point up on Mike Duarte in the early title battle, with Vanada, Campbell and Amy Arsenault not far behind. On Saturday, they go for 35 laps in their Triple Crown opener.

The Helger’s Sportsman division heads for week three with Ryan Lineham and Adam Pettey the only two drivers to finish on the podium in both events. Lineham won opening day, and Steve Axon picked up the victory in week two after blowing a motor on opening day. Can one of them return to the top or will Pettey get his first win? Defending champion Craig Pianka, former champion Chad Baxter, Randy Moretti, Chris Rioux and others are also off to a strong start with their 2023 season and look to be contenders in the 35-lapper.

Saturday racing includes NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour qualifying at 5:30 p.m., followed by the first heat races at 6 p.m. The Whelen Modified Tour will be the final event on the card, slated to begin at 8 p.m. It’s an event you will not want to miss.

Fast Friday roars back to the track with two races complete in their five divisions, headlined by a thrilling finish to last week’s Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Outlaw race. Brent Robidoux won by just a few inches at the line, holding off opening night winner Ryan Vanasse Jr. in the first race of their Triple Crown. This Friday night, the Outlaws return along with the Bandits, who enter the race with Parker Davis winning both of the first two events.

The Sport 4 division takes center stage on Fast Friday this week with the first round of their Everett’s Triple Crown, set for 30 laps. Mikey LeFort picked up the victory in the No. 13 Helger’s Racing ride last week, with opening night winner Jarrod Freitas close behind. Defending champion Crystal Murray had struggles week one and in week two, but rebounded to finish on the podium in third. Will one of these drivers kick-off the Triple Crown on a strong note or will someone else find Victory Lane?

Scott Cestodio has two wins in the bank in the Helger’s Pure Stock division, holding off Danny Massa and Mike Henriques to win last week. Henriques joined him on the podium in both events, second in one and third in another. In the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars, after a tough first race, the division went without a caution last week with Jacob Burns holding off Isaiah Newcomb in a dash to the finish of their main event. Both divisions are back on track this week for 25 laps to cap a full Friday night of racing. All Fast Friday action begins at 7 p.m.

Fans are encouraged to purchase ahead and save not only time, but money, as tickets online are a bit cheaper than they will be at the gates, and online ticket holders may enter the grandstands before those who buy at the track on race day.

SEEKONK, Mass. — Mother Nature didn’t come to play on Saturday night at Seekonk Speedway, forcing track officials to postpone the racing card including the Spring Green 123 for the American-Canadian Tour. The ACT Tour will return to Seekonk for this special event on Saturday, August 19, alongside a full card of racing that will include the Pro Stocks, Sportsman and Sport Trucks.


With the postponement of the ACT Tour event until August 19, all grandstand passes purchased for the June 3 racing card will be honored on August 19 when ACT returns. 


Seekonk Speedway has also announced an adjustment in the schedule for the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series. Although the first two races in the Triple Crown for all divisions will remain unchanged, the final events for the Pro Stocks and Late Models have been moved to Saturday, August 12. The Sportsman and Trucks Triple Crown finale remains on August 19 as part of Everett’s Auto Parts weekend at the track. The Pro Stock race on August 19 will be a normal 40-lap feature.


“These adjustments to our schedule will just add even more excitement to race night on August 12,” Ed St. Germain of Seekonk Speedway said. “With some of our Late Model contenders racing with the ACT Tour, we will give them the opportunity to do that and leave them off the August 19 schedule. We appreciate everyone working through these types of adjustments with the Speedway.”


-The Scully Memorial 55 for the Pro Stocks has been rescheduled to Saturday, July 15, a night that will also include the prestigious Boston Louie with  NEMA Lites and NEMA Midgets along with the Late Models.


Pit passes purchased for the June 3 event will be honored either this Saturday, June 10 or August 19. For those who chose to use them this Saturday, June 10, the track will cover the cost of the added value for the Tour pit pass and make it an even swap. Wristbands must be turned in to receive a new band.


Seekonk Speedway returns to Saturday night short-track racing on Saturday, June 10, with a show headlined by the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour Seekonk 150. The Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Sportsman, Chaz Auto Body Sport Trucks and Late Models will also all compete in the first round of their  Everetts Auto parts Triple Crown. All three divisions will have extra laps with the Trucks and Sportsman running 35 and the Late Models running 45.

SEEKONK, Mass. — In one of the closest finishes in the history of the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero divisions, Brent Robidoux edged Ryan Vanasse Jr. by a few inches to win the 15-lap feature on Friday night. Robidoux and Vanasse raced hard through the final few laps, but when they took the white flag, it was Robidoux who slid up just enough to give Vanasse a lane, and the race was on.


Down the backstretch and through the final two turns, they both gave it everything they had. And in the end, Robidoux edged Vanasse by .002 in the scoring to take the win in the first race of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series for the division. Vanasse was one of the first people to the car to congratulate Robidoux on the win, showing true sportsmanship in Seekonk’s Youth Racing division. Vanasse won in the first race and finished second in week two.


Andrew Gomes had a solid third-place finish, with Collin Vanasse and Dylan Calabro finishing off the top-five. RJ Murphy was sixth, followed by Bryson Robidoux, Mikey LeFort III, Zachary Keith and Zacharias Kelley.

SEEKONK, Mass. — In the first round of the Everett’s Auto Parts Triple Crown Series for the Seekonk Grand Prix Bandolero Bandits, Parker Davis made it two-for-two in Victory Lane on the 2023 season. Davis took the lead after some contact in front of him sent Mike Hanafin and Sam Macedo to the rear, and he never looked back.


After winning opening night, Davis was thrilled to park in the winner’s circle once again in week two. Macedo chased his way through the field to return to the podium, finishing second after not finishing on opening night due to mechanical gremlins. Nick Uhrig Jr. also rebounded from a bit of a tough first week to score a solid third in the 15-lap feature. 


Hanafin would recover to finish fourth, with Luka Dib scoring his second straight top-five finish to open the season. Mason Silvia, Ryder Aguiar and Carl Satterland Jr. rounded out the field.

SEEKONK, Mass. — Scott Cestodio wasn’t going to be denied in week two for the Helger’s South Coast Power Equipment Pure Stocks. Starting deep in the field after winning week one, Cestodio slowly worked his way through the field and then passed Danny Massa using the outside lane on a restart to take the feature win.


After having a bit of an off night for his standards in week one, Massa was able to score a solid second-place finish after fending off many challengers in the final laps. Mike Henriques opened the year with another podium, finishing in third, with Greg Perry and Jared Cordeira finishing the top-five after the 25-lap main event.


Timmy Ouellette was sixth, followed by Ethan Souza, Kevin Rioux, Sam Lincoln and Matt Talbot.

SEEKONK, Mass. — After a tough first week, the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends Cars returned to the track on Friday night for another 25-lap feature, and it looked like a different division. They ran the entire distance without a caution flag and at the end, Jacob “Rowdy” Burns held off a hard-charging Isaiah Newcomb to take the feature win.


Burns jumped out to the lead quickly, while Newcomb had to work his way through the field. Their paths crossed with just under five laps to go, when Newcomb closed to the back bumper in the race for the lead. He tried everything he could to get around, but couldn’t quite make the move. Burns would win, with Newcomb finishing second and Josh Parsons charging to the front to finish in third. Nicholaus Bulkeley, Mason Tessier and Richie Helger Jr. were not far behind them at the finish.

SEEKONK, Mass. — Driving the Richie Helger Racing No. 13, Mikey LeFort charged to the front of the field quickly in Friday’s 25-lap Sport 4 race. He had to hold off Jarrod Freitas, the opening day winner, in the final few laps, but wasn’t going to let that stop him from getting back to Victory Lane.


LeFort’s charge to the front came from the middle of the pack, but it didn’t take him long. He took the lead and looked to be cruising, but Freitas was closing fast and making it a race. However, a caution with just two laps to go slowed the field and gave LeFort a chance to drive away. On the restart, he did just that, getting to Victory Lane. Freitas ended with a strong second-place finish, while Crystal Murray rebounded from a tough first week to finish third. Behind her, Henry Lavallee and Richie Johnson finished in the top-five spots.


Taylor Bowser was sixth, followed by Daniel Hayes, Jacob Budznya, Christine Cavallaro and DJ Thibeault.
